Intensive Home Treatment Team (IHTT).

Who we are

We are a small team of professionals from different backgrounds including nurses, social workers, occupational therapists, psychologists and support workers.

What we offer

We work with young people who may be at risk of admission to, or ready to be discharged from, specialist hospitals. We offer enhanced support to try and prevent young people needing to be admitted to specialist hospitals by being able to offer more frequent contact in the community. When a young person is ready for discharge from hospital, we work with them, their families and other agencies to support them and prepare them for their return home.

What to expect

You can expect to be seen away from The Den (our space at Chesterfield Hospital) and in places that are comfortable for you. You will see us more regularly than you would normally be seen by CAMHS for a short period of time until you are settled. If you are in hospital we will visit you and attend meetings at the hospital.

+ CAMHS Youth Offending Team

The Intensive Home Treatment Team (IHTT) also work closely with the Youth Offending Team (YOT).

The YOT are a small team of professionals who work with young people who are open to the Youth Offending Team and on a court order. They offer young people a mental health assessment and help to identify anything that they may find of help from CAMHS. Their work with young people is on a voluntary basis.

They offer young people an initial appointment for an assessment, then agree a plan of support, together with the young person and their youth offending worker. They work flexibly to try and see young people where they are the most comfortable.
